Weekend Travels

I leave early tomorrow morning for a weekend of fun down at my old college (“old” college…that sounds weird…I haven’t been gone that long have I?) and so I won’t be around until Monday morning when I fly back, but I do plan on having a Musical Monday post for you, so tune in to see what I’m listening to!

Now I just need to get down to the hardest part about traveling – figuring out what to pack knitting-wise….

so many wips to choose from...or start something new?

Do you have any fun weekend plans?

Adventures in Denver and a Lack of Knitting

I flew up to Denver on Thursday and its been a whirl wind of a trip ever since!

Lots of hanging out with friends, a parade, tons of delicious food, going out for dancing and drinks, hot tubbing, and not a stitch of knitting.

Because I didn’t want to check any bags, I only brought a single carry-on on the flight and couldn’t fit any knitting inside of it.  I hope to make it by my favorite yarn store Lamb Shoppe tomorrow to pick up a project for the ride home, but regardless I promise to update with knitting progress once I get back home!

it was a random parade, chinese dragons, storm troopers, darth vader, a saint bernard bus, make a wish foundation limos, pt cruiser club, and that was only 5 minutes of it!

Durango Hat Tourney

Hello readers!I want to apologize for taking a little vacation without internet access without warning you all first!

We went up to Durango, CO to participate in the Durango Hat Tournament for Ultimate Frisbee and we really did have a blast :)   The tourney was sponsored by Ska Brewing and Zia Taqueria and both provide such delicious products!  We were lucky enough to have a sampling of the beer throughout the weekend and Zia fed us on Saturday night.  I won’t bore you with all of the details, but I want to share some pictures and happening and let you in on what we did

Mmm, tea

Tea was enjoyed

Stretch!

Frisbees were jumped for

Can you see the love?

Puppies (or just Lisa, really) were cuddled with

So many purty flowers

Pretty flowers found

Cold but refreshing

That's one big shroom!

And check out this huge mushroom we found!

And plenty of fun was had by all :)

Of course knitting was taken, what else are you supposed to do on long car trips?  Sadly, I don’t have any pictures of that right now, but the hat I finished on the way home is blocking and the other secret-ish project doesn’t have acceptable photos.  Pictures to come soon, I promise!

For my American friends, what did you do for the long weekend?  For those elsewhere, did you do anything fun?
