Pints & Purls Edition 12: Red Hook ESB

This is the twelfth in a series of installments that will highlight one of my favorite brews and which knits to go with it!

Brew: ESB (Extra Special Bitters)

Brewer: Red Hook

Malts:

Hops:

Flavors:  Contrary to the name, this beer isn’t very bitter at all!  It’s got a great creamy undertone, clean flavors and a nice, crisp, spicy hop finish.IMG_0667

Knit Pairings:  The perfect yarn and pattern for this brew?  A fantastic little shawlette with a stockinette body that is finished with a short but effective lacy border.  Knitting such a shawl with a creamy merino yarn that’s blended with a touch of silk?  Perfection.

Notes:  This beer is easy to drink, easy to share and easy to gift, as the simple, satisfying shawl would be!

Let me know what you think!  Suggestions for future beers, more/different information to include, this is a work in progress so I won’t be offended by constructive advice!
