FO Friday: Bailiwick Pullover

It’s done! This sweater seemed to take me *forever* to knit and by the end of it, I really just wanted to move onto the next thing but I was definitely excited to have this finished and wearable.

It fits just the way I wanted it to, not close fitting (except in the sleeves) and not too baggy (so I don’t look like a huge grape).  I think it hits my hips at the best point and the texture on top provides awesome visual (and knitting) interest but the stockinette on the bottom keeps it from being overwhelming.

All in all, I loved knitting this, despite all my lazy mistakes that I had to continually rip back and fix, the yarn is superb and the finished sweater is fantastic!

WIP Wednesday: Still Growing

I’ve made a lot of progress on the body of the Bailiwick pullover and I should be starting the bottom ribbing soon!  Then I just have to knit the sleeves and wearability will be imminent.

I haven’t worked on the Atalanta at all really this week and don’t have new pretty pictures to show you of that project.  I did, however, start and finish a new project this past weekend which I’ll share on Friday!

WIP Wednesday: Progress

I got a lot of knitting time in this week and I’m happy with the progress I’m making on both of my sweaters!

The Bailiwick pullover saw another hiccup last week when I finished the back and was about to join when I realized I hadn’t done the proper number of repeats for the first bit of texture (note to self: read the pattern more than once, don’t think you’re “smarter” than the pattern) and so I had to rip back and redo most of the back but now the body is joined and it’s been smooth sailing!

The Atalanta is seeing some progress too although not quite as measurable an amount, it’s still beautiful and I am still excited to wear it!

WIP Wednesday: More Purple

So over the past week I’ve made some fun progress on the purple top that has finally been put on Ravelry and that means I can link to it too!

It’s going to be the Bailiwick Pullover by Courtney Spainhower in the Spring issue of Interweave Knits.

I’ve finished the front and am starting to work on the back, then they’ll be joined to work in the round for the body. 

The orange sweater may be taking a backseat to this one…..but we won’t tell her that.  The Bailiwick is just a tad easier to follow when I’m doing other things like Skyping with distant friends or watching TV so it sees more action.  But never fear! I still love the orange yarn and the pattern and hope to have the sweater done by spring (which seems a long way off with below 0 degree F temps and all the snow we’ve gotten this week).
