WIP Wednesday: Polar Warmth

This week I’m primarily working on the sweater for my Aunteeeee J and happy with the progress!

The front is completed, the back is moving along and over the weekend I coerced my knitting momma to help me start a sleeve.IMG_6035

All that I need to do is finish the back and sleeve, knit another sleeve, block and sew the pieces together then do the cowl collar. That’s not too much to get done in time to ship it for Christmas, is it?

The yarn is Mrs. Crosby Plays Hatbox and, I’ve said it before but I’ll say it again, I’m loving it!  The colors are gorgeous (I’m being careful to alternate skeins every few rows because it is hand-dyed and has it’s quirks) and the yarn is very pleasant to knit with.

What are you working on this week?

Be Jealous. Be Very Jealous.

You might have noticed a fluctuating Stash Count over on my sidebar, and from the talk about how many skeins I’m using up with these felted bags, only be down about ten skeins doesn’t make much sense does it?  I did have to buy two more skeins of the yarn for the sweater I introduced Friday, so that made the count go up some.

But only two skeins?  What about the rest?  Why is the number still so high?

Well, I’ll tell you.  I got a gift.  A Yarn Gift.

70% cashmere, 30% silk

The most luxurious yarn that has ever graced my stash.  Filatura Di Crosa Superior.

I got this as a delayed Christmas present from my friend Megan (I have yet to give her her present, I’m a bad friend).  I haven’t a clue what to make with it yet, something smooshy that will touch my skin….I’m thinking a leotard or a onesie…but I’ll settle for a big cowl or scarf too 🙂

New to the Shop

I have some new knits coming to the shop this week, namely this deep sapphire blue lacy slouch (the pattern for which can be found here)

Such Deep Rich Colors

And this amazingly soft sapphire, lime and cream scarf

Can you feel the "soft" emanating from the photo?

Both are super soft, knit from wool blends, merino and the scarf even has some *cashmere* so they are some amazing, luxurious accessories for a lucky fall wearer.

What have you been knitting up lately?  Is it cold in your neck of the woods yet?
