WIP Wednesday: Old Projects, New Projects and Projects-to-Be

Progress has slowed on the Compass Rose Stole, I’ve been busy with new projects, planning soon-to-be-projects and general life-stuff but here’s where it lays currently:

finished up the center motif and am >this< close to the final border

Wrapping up the diamond lace portion then onto the chevron section, just a few more inches!  I’m hoping to have it done before Rhinebeck 😀

Here are some recently-started going-to-be-gloves in Lambs Pride, check out the depth of that green whydontcha.  Gorgeous.

twisted rib, blue dpns and that rich green ❤

Also, you’ll see more of these as giftmas approaches:

A soft and warm combination

Linking up with Tami, as usual!  What are you working on this week?

Compass Rose Stole Pattern Now Available!

The KAL that Bittersweet Woolery and I were hosting in her group is now wrapped up and you know what that means?  The pattern is available for everyone!

The length is easily adjusted by adding more repeats of certain patterns

The KAL wasn’t the smoothest of experiences, there were some issues with the pattern (I think my computer “unsaves” a lot of my work sometimes) and I think this hindered participation, but I think it was a great experience, I learned a lot and I do think I’ll host more in the future!

Details

Pick up your copy of the stole pattern on Ravelry, Craftsy or Etsy and share your own version of the stole!

WIP Wednesday: Yellow and Blue

Happy Wednesday!  I’m back this week with pictures of the yellow sweater and the Compass Rose Stole (finally).

It’ll be done by the time it’s cold outside, even if growth right now is slow 🙂

Obviously, the sweater is coming along.  Some time back I decided I wouldn’t have enough yarn to make loves (long sleeves) and certainly didn’t want to make shoves (short sleeves, thanks Freshy) so I’m going with elves (elbow-length sleeves) although I’m debating making the ribbing longer to match the bottom hemline, what do you guys think?

The stole is coming along although slowly, I’ve been busy working at the cafe and training for my race this past Saturday so I’m making some headway on it this week (while also working on products for the show I’m participating in this weekend).

makin’ progress

This picture was taken a day or so ago and I’ve made more progress, the Compass Rose motif is all done and I’m making my way to the edges of the mesh border, the Rose definitely takes more concentration than this part of the project so I’m hoping it’ll fly right along now.

Joining in with Tami as usual 🙂  What are you working on this week?

WIP Wednesday: I Probably Need My Own Compass

The KAL has had some ups and downs, it’s our first one (for both Tina and I) and it sure has been a learning process!  My second version of the stole is coming along albeit slowly with the new job and general life responsibilities and all that fun stuff.

the beginning of the compass rose motif just peaking through

Clue 4 went out Sunday and I’m still working on Clue 3, but as I’ve said before, knitting lace can be addicting because “just one more row” and I can see the pattern better! Every row adds something new and exciting 🙂

doesn’t the colorway look like the ocean?

Joining up with Tami, as usual, what are you knitting this week?

WIP Wednesday: Mystery KAL Pattern

This week I’m sharing pictures of the stole, the sweater has only a little sleeve progress and to be honest I’m worried I’ll run out of yarn!

crumply, bumpy, wavy lace

I’m working on the 3rd clue that went out on Sunday, with the new job and everything going on it’s slow moving but I love the yarn (by Bittersweet Woolery) and I love watching the pattern emerge 🙂

Teaming up with Tami again!

Compass Rose Stole

So the Mystery KAL is underway and I’m excited by the progress all of the participants are sharing! I love seeing the design knit up in different colorways and I’m even knitting another too 😀

it even waves! like the ocean!

The stole pattern is available for purchase but won’t be released to the public until early October when the KAL is over.  If you choose to purchase the pattern between now and then, it will arrive in your inbox as soon as it is available!
