New Design and a KAL!!!

IMG_8019As I’m sure you know that I’ve been working on a design with some Sweet Fingering yarn from Candy Skein.  That design is now finished and we’d love to offer a KAL for it!IMG_7969

Sweet Summer is a small shawl that uses only 1 skein of Sweet Fingering (438 yds).  It’s great for a first shawl project or something to use up those gorgeous single skeins you have in your stash.  It features basic knit and purl stitches with simple increases and yarn overs.  Textural changes reveal a graphic sun ray pattern branching into an easy lace border meant to mimic the way light and heat radiate from the sun’s surface.IMG_7965

The Details:

  • Start Date: April 15, 2013
  • End Date: May 15, 2013
  • The KAL will be held in SillyLittleLady’s Group

  • The coupon code will be valid until April 16th for those participating in the KAL
  • There will be a giveaway package mailed to one lucky winner chosen by random number generator of those who link pictures of a finished project by May 16th to the Pattern Projects.

Giveaway Time!

I’ve been in my new headquarters for a month now, am finally unpacking the rest of the boxes as the office is *finally* finished (pictures will come, I promise) and I think it’s about time for a giveaway on the blog, don’t you?

Knitting is a huge part of my life (obviously) and I imagine fiber arts are at least a small part of yours too, that’s what I want this giveaway to be centered on!  I want to know all the little bits and pieces of how and why you enjoy the fiber arts, what you like to create, where, when, why.

The prize will be a copy of Natural Dying, 5 balls of Argyll Chameleon Mohair yarn and quite probably some extra, surprise goodies 😉IMG_7456

Deadline: Giveaway will end on February 22, 2013 and the winner will be announced the following week.

How to enter:

  • Comment on this post telling me your favorite sorts of things to knit!  Do you like sweaters? Hats? Blankets?  Do you prefer intarsia or lace or garter stitch over any other process?
  • Tweet about it linking to this post and tagging me (@sillylittlelady)
  • Like my Facebook Page
  • Join my Ravelry Group
  • Sign up for my Newsletter

You certainly don’t have to do all of these things to enter the giveaway, just let me know which ones you do choose to do and I’ll put all entries in a spreadsheet and the winner will be chosen by a random number generator.

100 Ravelry Sales!

The giveaway will end next Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at midnight and the winner will be chosen on Wednesday and announced here!

A Year and a Month

I was waiting for my new blog’s first year anniversary and you know what?  I missed it.  I posted my first post on this here blog last June 30th and now its already August!

A lot has happened in a year, 154 blog posts, almost 400 comments(!), the complete senior college year, graduation, relocation, designs published.  All sorts of good things 🙂

I’d like to celebrate this first year and hopefully many more to come with a giveaway for all of my wonderful readers.  We all know I wouldn’t be here without you and to show my appreciation for each and every one of you, I’d like to send a lucky winner a box of knitting paraphernalia with maybe a few other extra goodies included 😉

some yarny goodness, comin' your way!

To be entered, please leave a comment on this post giving me some feedback on the blog.  What do you want to see more of?  Do you have a favorite post?  A favorite theme?  Should I do something differently? Anything at all you feel I should know 🙂

The giveaway will end in one week, on August 8th at midnight mountain time and I will draw and announce the winner on August 9th.

Mail Goodies

I won a giveaway a while back on Kismet’s Companion and the package arrived just the other day!  Once I opened it, I noticed that the package didn’t smell like normal package, it smelled pretty good too.  Pulling out all of the wonderful contents, the scent was from two handmade bars of soap!

this one shows the color on the left the best 🙂

I also received two lovely skeins of yarn, a pink and white varigated baby dk and a burnt orange/cinnamon 100% merino from Colinette.  I’m thinking the Colinette will be a hat for me for the fall and I’m still working on the pink baby yarn, but  I have high hopes that it will be something awesome!

Oh, and the illness I mentioned yesterday: It’s strep :/  Hopefully it won’t incapacitate me too much, I must study for my final finals on Monday!

On Monday I launched my first ever Ravelry Giveaway in my group!  If you haven’t seen it yet, check it out 🙂 You could win this gorgeous stuff:

scrumptious and soft and warm and lovely

Plus some surprise gifties that will come in the package to the winner!  There are a multitude of ways to enter, but the giveaway ends on December 7th at midnight (next Tuesday) and I will be drawing the winner on Wednesday.

Lucky Me!

I entered a giveaway on Facebook for a chance to win a beautiful, colorful skein of art yarn from Kitty Grrlz (join her Facebook Group here) and I was lucky enough to win!!!
Santa Fe Summer

When we got back from our trip out to VA for the wedding, this beautiful skein was waiting for me, and let me tell you, its so much more beautiful than I even expected!

It's ok to be jealous 😉

I’m not entirely sure what I’m going to make with this phenomenal yarn yet, I’m thinking a cowl or scarf…in a simple texture to show off the natural beauty of the yarn.
