Pattern Release: Sunny Grey Skies

I told you I had a surprise for you today!  I’m releasing my Sunny Grey Skies Shawlette Pattern on Ravelry, Craftsy and Etsy – so pick your favorite venue and scope it out 🙂

a perfect light layer

Details:

A perfect layer for when the sun and the clouds are battling it out and you want something soft around your neck and shoulders, this shawl is sure to become a fast favorite.  The lace border is knit first then stitches are picked up and worked inward to the center.  Momentum is gained rather than lost as the number of stitches per row decreases the farther in you get.

Easily sized up or down depending in gauge

Finished Measurements: 49 inches (124.5 cm) across x 18 inches (46 cm) deep after blocking

 Materials

36” US 6 (4.00mm) Circular needles (or size to obtain gauge)

500 yards of sock or fingering weight yarn in Color B

300 yards of sock or fingering weight yarn in Color A

4 Stitch markers

Gauge: 6 sts x 7.5 rows = 1 inch in stockinette stitch

Mail Goodies

I won a giveaway a while back on Kismet’s Companion and the package arrived just the other day!  Once I opened it, I noticed that the package didn’t smell like normal package, it smelled pretty good too.  Pulling out all of the wonderful contents, the scent was from two handmade bars of soap!

this one shows the color on the left the best 🙂

I also received two lovely skeins of yarn, a pink and white varigated baby dk and a burnt orange/cinnamon 100% merino from Colinette.  I’m thinking the Colinette will be a hat for me for the fall and I’m still working on the pink baby yarn, but  I have high hopes that it will be something awesome!

Oh, and the illness I mentioned yesterday: It’s strep :/  Hopefully it won’t incapacitate me too much, I must study for my final finals on Monday!

WIP Wednesday: Knick Knack Knucks

Welcome back for another WIP Wednesday!  Want to join in?  Head on over to Tami’s blog to share your own projects.

This week, I’m in the middle of making myself a pair of Knucks, following my  currently-being-test-knit pattern.  The first set I made went to a friend for Christmas and my hands are just so cold and I had enough of the yarn left over to make some for myself.

Comin' along, slowly but surely

I really hope to have this pattern released in the next few weeks, just as soon as I find the time to make the edits that were suggested by one of my fabulous test knitters, MrsMouse.

What are you knitting this week?

All Grown Up

Remember this little guy I found a while back?

He's just a wittle guy

Well he’s all grown up now and even has a twin sister! They’ve been adopted into a loving home (by way of a Christmas gifting) and now the pattern for the pair is being written up and will need some test knitters.

now he's all growed up!

There are two sizes, S/M and L/XL, the small only takes one skein of Patons  Kroy Socks FX (166 yds), the larger size shouldn’t require much more (but that’s what the test knitting is for, to find out!).

and he's versatile!

To find out more or if you’re interested, let me know in the Ravelry Group!

Another Mystery Knit

So the sweater was finished in time!  Yay for speed knitting!  However, I did not get any pictures of the munchkin in it, maybe tomorrow when they open the present, they’ll send me some, whaddya think?

Anyways, in other knitting news, lets see if we can figure out what this specimen is?

She seems calm, unafraid...

I found it lurking in its natural habitat: a warm, welcoming lap where it was being dutifully cared for and raised.

What will she grow into?

What do you think it will be when it grows up? Sock yarn, tiny needles, socks? No. This is something different.

Merry Christmas everyone and Happy Holidays!  I hope you all have a wonderful time doing whatever it is that you’re going to do and I’ll be back next week 😀
