I’ve been knitting for more than 15 years and designing my own projects the entire time. My first design was published in 2008 and I haven’t stopped since. I have strong mathematical abilities and having gone to an Engineering school for college, these strengths have been honed for the engineering of knitwear. I’ve also been fortunate enough to have worked with Interweave as a Project Editor and learned so much about the knitwear industry and technical editing in that time. English is always something that I studied fiercely, grammar and spelling mistakes irk me to no end and I always have a red pen in my head when I read essays written by classmates, colleagues and publications. I’ve taken classes to further my abilities through Craftsy, knitting conventions and various books, blogs and lectures.
Rates and Details
I charge $25/hr for Technical Editing with a $10 minimum for services. Large, complex patterns (sweaters, intricate shawls, etc) typically take 2-5 hours, while smaller or simpler patterns can take as little as 45 minutes to an hour. I’m happy to give an estimate before starting work if you’d prefer. I’ll never exceed the estimate given without first consulting you.
My preferred payment method is via Venmo or Paypal although I am flexible to other arrangements if required.
I prefer to work with PDF documents using sticky notes and comments but will also edit Word documents using Track Changes.
